Eco Clean Atlanta

Jerrie's Note

I could remember cleaning very young, I was about 6 years old when my mother handed me a broom and said, "Start cleaning your room".  I gave my mom a look of amazement as she handed it to me, I replied, "I'm a child".  Mom replied with a look of amusement, "Yes babe, and a child that can clean".  My parents believed in giving my brother and I chores to instill in us a very strong work ethic of cleaning up after ourselves.

You see, my brother and I were born in Brooklyn, New York from young Puerto Rican parents living in an enormous melting pot of rich culture and diversity - it was a great experience....I still go home when I can.

Much later, I attended Hunter College and earned my BA degree in 92.  Directly, after college I worked for a large GC company and started out as a Field Secretary working on the beach in a field trailer.  My 1^st project was PS. 43Q, an Intermediate school in Far

Rockaway Beach, Queens.  I just loved the whole building process and how everything came together in a short duration of time. Later I went back to school for some more schooling and became a Field Engineer for a huge global company and eventually worked my way up to pseudo Project Manager status.... yippy.... NOT!  

Thank Goodness, for Boxing & Muay Thai - because these disciplines were my forms of release just to keep me sane and grounded.  Meanwhile, in 2005, my family & I decided to move to Decatur, GA. Shortly, thereafter I started working for Atlanta Public Schools as a Field Engineer; later that year I was laid off.  The lay off experience was not a pleasant one to say the least! 

To cut a long story short - I made a conscious decision to be my own boss and to provide a eco-friendly service that could help busy families.  After some careful thought and suggestions from friends and family, we decided on an eco-friendly home cleaning service. We feel there is a need to have an environmentally safe home cleaning service for clients that believe in a cleaner environment for their loved ones, furry friends and planet. Period!   

I totally believe we can do our part in cleaning our environment naturally one home at a time, hence the birth of Eco Clean Atlanta.

Virginia's Note

Growing up in Kent, England I was surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills of the countryside. At a very young age I started to develop my eco-green sensibilities with a huge love for animals and all things nature.

I was born in the heart of London, of British and Jamaican parents. My parents were big travelers in their day and instilled in me a great sense of discovery, of different cultures and philosophy’s. I traveled throughout Europe, USA and North Africa in my teenage years.

At twenty-four I decided it was time to move onto bigger landscapes and I moved to New York City in the summer of 1989.  My dream was to drive around the United States of America, but three weeks after arriving I landed a job at an architectural firm.  I ended up living and working in and around NYC for the  following fifteen exciting years.

In my early thirties I decided it was time to completely change careers paths and I went to massage school at nights, while working in the day at Columbia University at my G.C. job.  I became a licensed NY Board Certified Massage Therapist in 1997 and over the following numbers of years I developed and sustained my very own massage business practice.

The spring of 2004 my partner and I decided to move to St. Petersburg, Florida for a much slower pace of life. Well, it turned out that Florida was just way too slow for this city girl, so Decatur gives me the middle ground between city and country, with a eco-friendly sustainable community feel.

After another down-turn in the building industry and another layoff, my partner and I decided it was time to start-up our very own eco-friendly green home cleaning service and so was born “Eco Clean Atlanta” in the summer of 2008.
